Marietta PAL cheerleaders place second in first-ever competition

MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Marietta Police Department's Police Athletic League (PAL) 12 and under cheerleaders placed second in their first-ever competition on Dec. 3.

The cheerleaders competed in a regional PAL Cheerleading Competition in Daytona Beach, Fla. As the only non-Florida team in the lineup, the girls knew they were the underdogs. But they still managed to cheer, dance and stunt their way into a silver finish, missing the first place mark by only two points.

Marietta PAL raised the money the squad needed to attend the competition; for many of the girls, it was the first trip outside of Georgia.

Needless to say, the Marietta Police Department is very proud of the girls and all their hard work.
