Sterling Hospitality Takes Home Three Awards From The Atlanta Chefs Expo | Restaurants
The team behind Sterling Hospitality, creators of Atlanta concepts Aqua blue Restaurant & Bar, Marlow’s Tavern, Aqua blue Catered Events and Market Street Café, took home three awards at the Atlanta Chefs Expo on Sunday, February 19 at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. This inaugural culinary event included menu tastings from local chefs, cooking demonstrations and more to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Greater Atlanta. Sterling Hospitality competed in the show along with 57 other chefs and restaurants and received recognition for Fan Favorite (Aqua blue Restaurant & Bar), Best Caterer and Most Creative Caterer (Aqua blue Catered Events).
“I am extremely proud of our team and the group effort that propelled us to achieve this recognition, especially with so many great chefs competing in this event,” says Robert Schmitz, Sterling Hospitality’s chief operating officer and vice president of strategic development.
Aqua blue Catered Events, which offers full service on- and off-site catering throughout Georgia, served five spice seared tuna on a crispy won ton with chili and wasabi aioli, and cocoa and coffee rubbed tenderloin tossed in truffle oil on crostini with blue cheese smear, sweet onion jam and a chive stick.
Aqua blue Restaurant & Bar served pan seared miso glazed scallop on a shitake bun with seaweed salad and soy caramel, and Malbec braised short rib on top of a creamy farro with caramelized fennel and baby carrot and topped with blueberry ketchup.
The company’s newest corporate café and private event space, Market Street Café, and popular neighborhood tavern concept, Marlow’s Tavern, also participated in the event. Market Street Café offered guests Southern fried chicken sushi wraps and duck confit salad, while Marlow’s Tavern made shrimp and crab nachos and shrimp and grits.
