MARIETTA, Ga. -- Three young Marietta residents were injured in a single-car crash on Interstate 75 Wednesday night.

Marietta police said the accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m., when 19-year-old Hannah O'Donnell lost control of her Nissan 350Z while trying to get on I-75 north from the Canton Road Connector.

The car left the road and rolled down a hill, flipping multiple times, investigators said. It landed in a drainage field between the access ramps.

O'Donnell and the front-seat passenger, 19-year-old Leah Giammarva, were seriously injured in the crash. The rear passenger, 26-year-old Michael Compton, was ejected from the car before it stopped rolling. All three were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Compton and O'Donnell were released from the hospital Thursday morning, according to police. Giammarva remains in critical condition.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, but said the cause is still under investigation.
