News

MARIETTA, GA (WXIA) -- Authorities arrested a 36-year-old fugitive Thursday afternoon in Marietta, who was wanted on seven counts of armed robbery.

Investigators from the Cobb County Sheriff's Office received a tip several days ago that Jamar Scott may be in the area, and began a surveillance operation, which led to his capture Thursday afternoon at about 4 pm in the 2800 block of Cedarbrook Drive in Marietta. Scott had been on the Sheriff's Office's Most Wanted list since 2009.

Scott was wanted in conjunction with a 2009 crime, where he and two other persons are accused of robbing seven people at gunpoint on Pine Street in Marietta.

The Sheriff's Office worked in conjunction with the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force on his capture. Scott is currently in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
