Wet weather leads to morning traffic problems | News
ATLANTA -- A soggy start to the day has led to traffic problems across the metro Wednesday.
On northbound Interstate 285 in Fulton County, an accident has blocked the rightmost lane near the I-20 ramp.
In Cobb County, an accident on southbound I-75 at Delk Road has blocked the rightmost lane. Another I-75 wreck near North Marietta Parkway is blocking two middle lanes.
11Alive traffic reporter Elle Duncan advises taking Cobb Parkway as an alternate route.
Downed power lines and a fallen tree have completely shut down Whitlock Avenue at Brookwood Drive in Marietta.
An accident has blocked the leftmost lane of southbound I-85 south of North Druid Hills Road inside the Perimeter. A stalled car on the southbound Downtown Connector at Williams Street is causing problems in a middle lane.
In Gwinnett County, a single-car accident is blocking three left lanes, including the HOV lane, of southbound I-85 just south of Beaver Ruin Road.
A two-car accident has shut down a surface street in Coweta County. Georgia 16 is blocked in both directions at New Street, near Welcome Sargent Road. One person is injured, but the extent of the injuries is not known.
Heavy traffic has also been reported on interstates all across the area.
