Georgia State Patrol introduces 75 new state troopers | News

ATLANTA -- The Georgia State Patrol, along with the Georgia Department of Transportation held a conference to introduce the start of 75 new state troopers in Cobb and Gwinnett counties.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, officials met with DGOT last year, and agreed to provide payments for the new troopers who will patrol the interstates and respond to any traffic accidents that may happen during peak travel times.
The announcement of the first patrol group took was made by GDOT Commissioner Keith Golden, and Georgia Department of Public Safety's Colonel Mark. W. McDonough. The news conference was held at the Georgia Department of Public Safety Headquarters on East Confederate Avenue.
