MARIETTA, Ga. -- A pedestrian will face charges after being hit by a car while crossing a Marietta street against the light.
Marietta Police spokesman Justin Rutland said the accident happened at around 8 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Powder Springs Street and Chestnut Hill Road.
The pedestrian, Wilder Vicente-Vicente, was crossing Powder Springs Street. He was in the crosswalk, but was walking against the light, Rutland said.
Vicente-Vicente was hit by a 34-year-old Marietta man. The driver told investigators he did not see the victim until hitting him.
Rutland said Vicente-Vicente is in good condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He has been charged with Georgia's Obedience to Traffic Control Devices code for crossing the street against the light.
