ATLANTA, Ga. -- An Illinois man was sentenced to almost four years in federal prison for sending fake bomb threats to Atlanta-area schools in 2011.
Valtrez Stewart, 29, mailed false bomb threats to Northview High School, Marietta High School, Stephenson Middle School and Meadowcreek High School. He confessed to sending the threats in January.
U.S. Attorney Sally Yates said Stewart created the notes out of collages of letters clipped from newspapers and magazines. The letters included threats of bombs going off and promises of murders if money was not paid to certain people.
Stewart was sentenced to three years, 10 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.
