CAPTURED | Saul Locke

UPDATE (July 11, 2012) -- Saul Locke, 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week for March 14, has been captured in Pennsylvania, and is now in custody in Cobb County.

Locke, 45, was wanted in connection with the assault and robbery of an 88-year-old woman in the parking lot of a CVS drug store on Powers Ferry Road in Sandy Springs.

Sandy Springs police said the victim was entering her car when Locke snatched her purse from her. As she struggled, they said, he pushed her into her car and fled to his nearby truck. They said the victim ran after Locke, but she fell down. She was not seriously hurt.

Earlier this month, Locke was arrested in Elizabethville, Pa. on fradulent check charges, and ordered by the judge in Pennsylvania to return to Georgia and surrender to authorities by July 9.

Investigators said he surrendered to the Cobb county Sheriff's Department on July 9. He is now awaiting transfer to Sandy Springs after Cobb County officials conclude their initial court proceedings.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- Saul Locke is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week for March 14, 2012. Locke, age 45, is wanted by the Sandy Springs Police Department. They say he likes to pick on older women and is wanted for robbery.

Locke is accused of assaulting an 88-year-old Sandy Springs woman as she walked to her car from a CVS Pharmacy on Powers Ferry Road on January 7, 2012. "Saul Locke pulls up, gets out, and grabs her purse," said Capt. Steve Rose. "I think she struggled with him and he pushed her back into her car."

Capt. Rose said Locke has done the same thing before and is likely to do it again. "The violence that he showed shoving her back into that car, it was just reckless abandon in an attempt to get her purse," he said.

Locke is also wanted by Cobb County Police for a very similar incident that happened on December 26, 2011 in the parking lot of the Costco store at Cumberland Mall.

Locke is accused of stealing a purse from a 69-year-old woman who also put up a struggle. As she tried to hang onto her purse, police said Saul drove off, dragging the woman 60 feet before she let go.

In both cases Locke was driving a dark colored, 2011 Chevrolet Z-71 pickup truck with a Georgia tag BUF-1755.
