MARIETTA | Ex Glock employee accused of siphoning millions | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
MARIETTA, Ga. -- A Georgia prosecutor told jurors a former attorney for gun manufacturer Glock Inc. was essentially running the company's U.S. operations and used his position to steal millions from his employer.
In his opening statement Wednesday, Cobb County Assistant District Attorney John Butters listed various methods that he says Paul Jannuzzo used to siphon money into personal accounts. He says Jannuzzo stole money by fabricating loan documents and pilfering corporate funds.
Defense lawyers chose to defer their opening statement until they begin presenting their case.
Jannuzzo has pleaded not guilty. He worked for the U.S. division of Glock, which is based in Austria.
A former Glock vice president confessed nine years ago to the company's founder that he and Jannuzzo stole from Glock. He's expected to testify against Jannuzzo.
