MARIETTA: Target robbery suspect arrested in Fla.

MARIETTA, Ga. -- A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a recent robbery and attempted carjacking at a Marietta Target.

Sly Deon Sampson of Marietta was arrested Friday in Hillsborough County, Florida. He is awaiting extradition to Georgia.

The robbery happened at around 9:30 a.m Friday, June 10 at the Target at 2201 Cobb Parkway South.

According to investigators, a woman was attempting to take her child out of the back seat of her SUV when Sampson approached her and forced her back into the car.

The woman and her child were able to get out of the car, a dark blue 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, before police say Sampson drove it away.

Within an hour of the robbery, Marietta detectives say someone used the victim's credit cards to post escort services to an Atlanta-based adult entertainment website.

MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Marietta Police Department has charged a suspect in connection with stealing air conditioning units at a local church.

Kittrell Hawthorne, 34, of Marietta faces charges of theft and obstruction.

According to Marietta police, officers were called to Roswell Street Baptist Church around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they witnessed a man loading two air conditioning units into a blue Ford Expedition.

The stolen goods were valued at more than $10,000.

Police began to chase the Expedition. Although officers did not make any immediate arrests, they were still able to identify Hawthorne and recover the air conditioning units.

Hawthorne was later arrested and is currently being held without bond in the Cobb County Jail.

There have been numerous air conditioning unit thefts in Marietta lately.

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Marietta police need help identifying a suspect who burglarized a home on North St. Mary's Lane.

Officers were called to the scene around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Security cameras captured images of a white man breaking into the back of the house and leaving with items.

Witnesses say the suspect drove away in an older model sedan, possibly a Buick.

Teen suspect sought in death of 12-year-old

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Cobb County police are looking for a 16-year-old boy accused of murdering another juvenile.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2 at the Eastside Mobile Home Park in Marietta.

Police received a 911 call about a shooting inside a trailer. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the body of a 12-year-old boy.

Detectives are now asking for the public to help them find Oscar Mondragon. Arrest warrants for him include felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Mondragon is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Cobb police at 770-499-3945.

Marietta police investigate multiple car break-ins

MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Marietta Police Department is currently investigating multiple entering auto cases.

All of the incidents occurred around Powder Springs Road and Oregon Trail in the nighttime hours of Tuesday, May 31 and the early morning of Wednesday, June 1.

Approximately 12 cars and two garages were entered.

AUSTELL: Suspect in 2 deaths arrested

AUSTELL, Ga. -- Cobb County police have arrested a suspect in the deaths of two people found late Tuesday in a home on Clay Road.

Charles Robbie Giddeons Jr., 26, was arrested without incident in Columbia County last night. He was with his wife and children when he was found.

Public information officer Michael Bowman said police found the two bodies after first being called to one location, where they received information about suspicious activity at the Clay Road address in Austell.

Inside the house, officers found two men dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

Giddeons has been processed through the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He has been charged with two counts of murder.
