Pickpocketing suspect arrested | Crime
UPDATE: Investigators have arrested a Marietta man in connection with several recent cases of wallet theft at Cobb County grocery stores.
Ricky Waller, 31, has been charged with theft by taking and credit card fraud. He is being held in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
COBB CO., Ga. -- Cobb police are investigating a number of wallet thefts that have occurred in grocery stores throughout the county.
Investigators say the perpetrator takes wallets out of women's purses while they shop for groceries. He then uses the credit cards in the wallets to buy "high-end electronics" at other Cobb stores.
A surveillance camera at one store captured images of the suspect. Police say he is a black man, about 5'11" to 6'2" and 180 to 210 pounds. He usually wears a light-colored baseball cap and long-sleeve dress shirt.
Some of the victims also say the suspect has "effeminate mannerisms," according to police.
