Sketch released of Cobb sexual assault suspect | Crime
COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Cobb County Police have released a composite sketch of the man accused of fondling and striking a young woman earlier this year.
The assault happened Jan. 24 in the laundry room at the Belle Chase Apartments in the 1500 block of Bellemeade Drive.
The victim told investigators she was doing laundry when she was approached by the suspect. The man, who may have been smoking marijuana, tried to talk to her. When she ignored him, he fondled her.
Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said the suspect attempted to take off the victim's clothes. The victim managed to get away, but not before the suspect struck her in the face several times.
The victim told police she saw the suspect run away toward the nearby Walmart. She was later taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The victim worked with a Georgia Bureau of Investigation sketch artist to create the composite. She described her attacker as a "skinny" black man in his early 20's. He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and had an athletic build, and was wearing bright green Beats headphones.
Anyone with information in the attack is asked to call Cobb County Police at 770-499-3945.
