Multiple Forgery Arrests in Woodstock
Crime

WOODSTOCK, GA -- On Tuesday, Oct. 19, two detectives with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office observed suspicious activity at a Wachovia Bank (4355 Towne Lake Parkway, Woodstock, 30189).

The detectives watched as several individuals exited a van parked behind the bank and entered the bank separately.

The van began to leave the parking lot when one of the individuals was still inside the bank.

Detectives attempted to pull the van over. As one of the detectives approached the vehicle on foot, the van sped away on Towne Lake Parkway toward I-575.

Woodstock Police assisted in pursuing the van southbound on I-575 into Cobb County. Cobb County Police then took over the pursuit, which ended on South Marietta Parkway.

There were four suspects inside the van; they tried to flee on foot. Three of the suspects were immediately captured. The passenger still inside the bank was also taken into custody.

Investigators were able to determine that the suspects were passing counterfeit checks at the Wachovia prior to their arrest:

* Anthony Grego, 41, of Lithonia

Has active warrants in Fulton County

* Freddie Williams, 29, of Atlanta

* Marvin Jones, 25, of Mableton

* Ricky Conley, 37, of Atlanta was the suspect left at the bank

All four suspects remain in custody at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond.

The incident remains under investigation. Detectives are working to identify the suspect who escaped on foot. Additional arrests are likely.
