MARIETTA, GA -- The Marietta Police Department's Investigative Services Unit is currently investigating a homicide that occurred on Sept. 18 between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. at the Autumn View Apartments (1035 Franklin Road SE, Marietta, 30067).

According to detectives, the victim, 27-year-old Boydrick Powell of Marietta, was killed when he was beaten with a baseball bat during a robbery inside Apartment P15.

Within hours of the murder, Marietta detectives secured arrest warrants for the suspects, 28-year-old Jesus Hernandez-Perez and Jose Marcelino Badillo-Pacheco, 21, both of Marietta.

Hernandez-Perez was subsequently arrested without incident on Sept. 20 by the Marietta Police Department and Cobb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit. He remains at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond and with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.

Badillo-Pacheco, aka "Gordo," remains at large. Marietta Police detectives have confirmed that he is in the country illegally and could be a flight risk. He is currently being sought by the Cobb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit and the United States Marshals.

Badillo-Pacheco is described as a Hispanic male, about 5'8" and 210 pounds. He has noticeable tattoos on both hands above the thumbs.
